Appraisal of Preparation for Pilgrimage to Mecca
The Minister of Security and Civilian Protection, Col. Dokisime Gnama Latta, chaired an appraisal meeting of preparation for Mecca. The conference hall of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization, and Local Communities hosted the gathering last Thursday. The meeting brought together various commissions and services in charge of the organization of the 2011 pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia (Asia). According to the national commission, the travel company accredited for the transport and other services involved in the organization of this pilgrimage, the 2011 pilgrimage will be exempt from harassment.
From October 20 to 21, the pilgrims will be in Medina and will travel back from Djeddah on November 20 to 21 this year, according to Ethiopian Airline Company's schedule. But three days earlier, a team will take care of the pilgrims at the welcoming site.
For the Minister of Security and Civilian Protection, the Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé's strong will is to organize a peaceful pilgrimage from now on.
It is worth noting that the pilgrimage to Mecca is the fifth pillar of Islam. This ritual is a recommendation for every Muslim, at least once in life.
